Scott manages Imagine H2O's operations and is responsible for building the organization's strategic partnerships. Prior to joining Imagine H2O, Scott developed sustainable and impact investment strategies for institutional and private clients at Royal Bank of Canada and Piper Jaffray. Scott initially joined Imagine H2O's volunteer team in 2008 through his involvement with the Full Circle Fund's Energy and Environment Circle. Scott also serves on the advisory board of Vida Verde Nature Education in Half Moon Bay. He has a BA in Economics from the Colorado College.
Tom acts as Vice President of Programming for Imagine H2O, developing the accelerator model as well as building out our policy and leadership capabilities as we scale. Tom comes to us from strategy roles at Project Frog (a San Francisco componentized buildings company) and Tamar Energy (an AD network developer based in London). Prior to business school, he spent three and half years with ERM, the sustainability consultancy, where he was an engagement manager. Tom holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an MA in Politics from Edinburgh University.
Nimesh’s role is focused on designing and executing Imagine H2O’s water policy initiatives and partnership with USAID, as well as supporting the organization's accelerator program. Nimesh most recently worked in strategy and operational roles with Danone’s Sustainable Development Team (New York) and for-profit social enterprise WaterHealth International (Accra). Prior to graduate school, Nimesh worked for five years with international development consulting firm, Nathan Associates Inc. (Singapore and Washington, DC). Nimesh holds a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
Safiyyah manages marketing, communications and outreach in support of Imagine H2O's accelerator activities. Safiyyah comes to Imagine H2O with experience working in communications and marketing for Earthjustice and two early-stage startups, Locket and Boostinsider. She holds a BS and MS in Earth Systems from Stanford University and has studied abroad at Peking University.
Sanjay leads the development of Imagine H2O's data-related programming. He has previously served on varied standards bodies including at the ITU, IETF, ATM Forum and the US T1S1. Over his career he has designed satellite networks, Internet Telephony exchanges and CRM platforms. He worked at Microsoft and Teledesic before founding vCustomer, a business services company with operations across 6 countries. After vCustomer was acquired, he started RTneuro to design miniaturized sensors for wearable devices. Since 2014 he has focused on sustainability starting the nonprofit ReuseH2O, which advocates for broader adoption of reclaimed water. Sanjay holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and BS in Computer Engineering and Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University.
Tamin Pechet is Chairman of Imagine H2O. He is also CEO of Upwell, the parent of Upwell Water Finance and Air Data Alliance. Tamin is the founder of Banyan Water, a leading software and analytics company that optimizes water systems nationally, and he serves on boards of four software and data businesses.
Previously, Tamin was a venture capitalist at Catamount Ventures and an investor at Goldman Sachs’ Special Situations Group, where he co-founded Goldman Sachs E&P Capital and helped launch Goldman’s Specialty Lending Group.
He advises several of the world’s largest investment firms on water and energy, he is a frequent speaker on technology and natural resources, and he co-authored the book “Water Tech: A Guide to Investment, Innovation, and Business Opportunities in the Water Sector.” Tamin holds an AB with honors from Harvard University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was featured in two recent case studies.
Matt is Vice President at Pearson. Prior to joining Pearson, he served as a Principal at Salmon River Capital, a NY growth equity firm. He also worked in Corporate and Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch in the firm's financial institutions group and subsequently in its corporate strategy group. He has also held various operating roles, including at General Mills in its marketing division, and at New Leaders for New Schools, leading its national expansion initiatives. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a BA from Amherst College.
Peter is a partner in Cooley's business department. He joined the Firm in 2001 and is resident in the San Francisco office. Peter's practice primarily focuses on the representation of emerging technology companies, venture capital firms, private equity firms and investment banks. Peter regularly assists clients with financings and mergers and acquisitions, in addition to entity formation, organization and governance matters, securities transactions, and SEC and stock exchange compliance and reporting. Peter received a J.D. in 2001 from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was a John M. Olin Law and Economics Fellow. Peter received a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1997.
Brian is Managing Director of Strategic Initiatives at Cypress Creek Renewables, a utility-scale solar project development company and long-term owner of solar projects. Prior to Cypress, Brian was a Senior Vice President in the Environmental Finance Group at Wells Fargo where he originated and structured solar tax equity investments for the bank’s own account from 2008 to 2014. Previously, as Project Director for the Global Environment Technology Foundation (GETF), he developed public-private water partnerships including a $20 million water partnership with Coca-Cola and USAID operating in 21 countries. Brian holds an AB with honors from Harvard and a MS in Resource Economics from the University of California Davis.
Barry Neal is the Executive Vice President leading Wells Fargo’s Environmental Finance activities, and managing a group whose primary focus is originating lending and investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector. His scope of activities is borne out of Wells Fargo’s Environmental Commitments, first announced in 2005 and then expanded in 2012. These commitments include a focus on providing capital to environmentally-beneficial businesses and projects in several industry sectors including renewable energy, cleantech, energy efficiency, and real estate. Neal joined Wells Fargo in 2006, after spending more than 20 years in the energy and environmental sectors. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he provided management consulting services to financial institutions and renewable energy development companies. Neal also served as a Managing Director of Energy Investors Funds Group, a leading private equity firm in the independent power sector. Earlier in his career, he was with Barakat & Chamberlin, an energy and environmental consulting firm, and Reading Energy Company, an independent power company, where he was one of the original founders. Neal earned a M.S. in Energy Management & Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
