Innovation in Action: How PUB Singapore Partners with Entrepreneurs to Bring Advanced Technology to Asia-Pacific
- With Asia-Pacific communities on the front lines of the global water and climate crisis, Singapore has emerged as a leader in water management and has become the preeminent launchpad for water startups to grow their business both regionally and globally. Join Imagine H2O and PUB, Singapore’s national utility, to gain insight on how PUB has fostered innovation through its PUB Singapore Water Exchange and partnerships with water technology startups. This session, featuring Bernard Koh, Assistant Chief Executive at PUB, and startup founders from Hydroleap, SpaceAge Labs, and Fluid Robotics will delve into how these startups found success in Asia-Pacific, and how, in conjunction with PUB, they are challenging the status quo of water and wastewater treatment.

Imagine H2O CrocTank: Meet the 2022 Urban Water Challenge Finalists
- Since 2018, Imagine H2O’s Urban Water Challenge has funded 31 pilot projects around the world. We are inviting this year’s finalists to reflect on their pilot projects, and discuss lessons learned through a rapid fire pilot pitch competition. Attendees will learn about the role of technology in rethinking water in cities, gain practical knowledge from proven case studies, and make new connections.

Imagine H2O’s Controversial Questions
- Three water luminaries will take on some of the biggest and most controversial statements facing the industry today. Each of the panelists will have to commit to agree or disagree with a given statement, and ultimately defend their position to the other panelists and the audience. Some examples of statements include “COVID was good for the water industry”, “without mass retirement, nothing is getting fixed”, and “water is pale, male and stale”. This is an interactive session and is always a ton of fun. Expect sparks to fly!

Let’s Shoot the Sh*t: Getting to the Bottom of Wastewater Pollution
- Sewage. The ocean-sized problem that nobody likes talking about. But it’s making for some really cr@ppy situations for people and nature. Globally, 80% of human waste is discharged untreated. In coastal communities, new research is revealing the severity of coastal damage from this pollution, and how it is accelerating other challenges from acidification and climate change. This interactive session will share the newest science, spotlight creative interventions and identify opportunities to improve management systems.
